Bronze Saint Benedict Medals

Type: A collection of traditional, circular Saint Benedict Medals made of bronze-colored metal with a textured, antique finish.

Front Side: Several medals show the front side depicting Saint Benedict holding a cross in his right hand and the Holy Rule (his book) in his left. Next to him are the traditional symbols: the raven and the chalice with a serpent. It is bordered by the Latin inscription: “Eius in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur” (May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death).

Back Side: The prominent medal in the center foreground shows the reverse side. It features the Saint Benedict Cross bearing the initials CSSML on the vertical bar and NDSMD on the horizontal bar. Surrounding the cross is the Benedictine monogram PAX (Peace) at the top, and the letters of the traditional exorcism and protective prayer formulas: V R S N S M V – S M Q L I V B.
